How can I add one or more files to an existing project in Explorer, but using a different filter or TM? |
To add one or more files to an existing project from Explorer, follow these steps: 1- Check the project's AIS directory. This can be found in several ways. For instance by selecting the View full asset paths checkbox in the Project's Task page. By doing so, the folder path to the source and target folders are displayed. You can also find it by opening the Task History. On the top of the Task Information page, you will find the Source asset: field pointing to the directory where the Task (file) is located in Explorer. 2- Copy the Source Asset directory up to the source language folder name. For instance: /Production Mount/ClientTestEMEA/Projects/11866_Test/Source-English (United States)/ 3- Open Explorer 4- Enter the directory in the Asset path field in Explorer and click Enter. Explorer will open the directory and open the source language folder. On the right hand side you will see the source files (corresponding to the existing Tasks) included in that folder. 5- Create a subfolder. Right-click on the source language folder, select New 6- Select Type Filesystem Directory and give your subfolder a name of your choice, for instance, New Task. 7- Click OK. The subfolder will be created. 8- Select the subfolder you have created and in the Menu bar, go to File/Upload and upload your files to the subfolder. 9- Create a subfolder under the Target language folder with the exact same folder name as the one under the Source language folder (see steps 5-6) 10- Right click on the created subfolder under the Target language folder, select Properties and in the respective fields, open the scroll-down menu and change the TM and the Filter configuration as needed. Note: if you want to override the System default filters, you will need to select a Filter Group that contains the filter that you want to apply to your files. Click OK to save your changes 11- Now back in the subfolder under the Source language folder, select the files you have uploaded and in the Explorer Menu, go to Project > Add to Project The Add to Project (Step 1 of 2) window will open up. 12- Now in the scroll-down menu of the TARGET languages only (do not do this for the source language), select the correct project name of the project you want to add the files to. Do not change the preset value All next to Source Assets. Click Next 13- In the Add to Project (Step 1 of 2) window, next to the target language(s) to which you want to add your files, select the correct Workflow. If you are not sure which workflow has been applied to the project, check the Task History of the existing Tasks to find this information. 14- Click on the Add to Project button. You will receive a confirmation that your files have been added as new Tasks to your project. Refresh your Project Tasks page to see the new Tasks being created and processed by applying the configuration defined in the Properties of the Target language subfolder. |
