Error during TTX import: "Import failed. The file could not be processed."

When you enable the option "Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)" within the *TRADOStag > Compatibility* FileType, importing a bilingual TTX document into a Translation Memory fails with the error message:

Import failed. The file could not be processed.



Clicking on Show error details provides a bit more information:

Import failed. The file could not be processed.
Value cannot be null.

Workaround: Enable "Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)"

1. Open SDL Trados Studio
2. Go to: File > Options > FileTypes > TRADOStag > Compatibility
3. Enable/tick the option
   Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)

 

This is known issue and was passed to our Development Team.
It is caused by the feature "Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)" set in File > Options > FileTypes > TRADOStag > Compatibility
