Error while opening TTX for translation in SDL Trados Studio: 'Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source'

Trying to open a TRADOStag (TTX) document in SDL Trados Studio is displaying the error message and not opening the document for translation:

Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: source

Workaround: Enable "Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)"

1. Open SDL Trados Studio
2. Go to: File > Options > FileTypes > TRADOStag > Compatibility
3. Tick the option Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)
4. Confirm the changes with OK and reopen the TTX document for translation.

 

This is known issue and was passed to our Development Team.
It is caused by the feature "Treat inline tags as placeholders (disable smart tag pairing)" set in File > Options > FileTypes > TRADOStag > Compatibility
