..and now when you open a bilingual Microsoft Word 2007/2010 (or higher) BILINGUAL_DOCUMENT |
In Trados Studio 2011 SP1 (or higher) you have to disable the feature Process files with tw4winMark in Tools > Options > File Types > Microsoft Word 2007-2011 > Common before opening the bilingual Word *.docx document. |
The Process files with tw4winMark option changes the filters that Trados Studio uses to open Microsoft Word files which have the tw4winMark style defined. Enable this option if you want Trados Studio to use the Microsoft Word 2000-2003 filter (for *.doc files) or the Microsoft Word 2007-2010 (or higher) filter (for *.docx files) for these files instead of using the Bilingual Workbench filter. NOTE: This is relevant if you have Word files which contain the tw4winMark style but are not bilingual files. The presence of tw4winMark style in Microsoft Word files usually indicates that the file is a bilingual file produced from Trados Translator's Workbench. So, by default, when a Microsoft Word document has this style, Trados Studio will not use Microsoft Word filters to process the file, but will use the Bilingual Workbench filter instead. Disable this option (the default setting) and the Bilingual Workbench filter processes a non-bilingual file that has this style defined. This results in the filter producing an empty sdlxliff file with no segments. |
