Trados GroupShare 2020 Cumulative Update 4 - Build 15.1.4.5066 (released on 04. February 2020)
This installer, named SDL_Trados_GroupShare_2020_Service_Release_1_CU4.exe (2,08 GB) is a full installer and can be used to install fresh instances as well as perform an update from Trados GroupShare 2017 SR1 (Service Release 1) CU10 (Build 60175) and Trados GroupShare 2020 SR1 CU3.
The installer is available in the DOWNLOADS area of relevant RWS accounts HERE.
This update includes the following changes
- !Updated Trados GroupShare to .NET 4.8 - you will need to download and install .NET 4.8 in order to run the installation
- Log Viewer tab for centralized log events
- The log events that each Trados GroupShare service outputs to separate .LOG files are now also aggregated in a central location under System Configuration > Log Viewer tab.
- Here you can sort, filter and examine all log events directly from the Trados GroupShare UI, without accessing the Trados GroupShare server, and without opening multiple .LOG files.
- One location for all install logs
- The general Trados GroupShare installation log file is now saved in the same folder where the Trados GroupShare services store their separate installation log files: ...Program Data\SDL\Install\SDL Trados GroupShare <version number>.log
- Improved performance and stability of the Translation Memory resources, also referred to as TM Service:
- Usage of TM background tasks is now more efficient, gaining positives on performance
- Specific crashing instances of the TM Service application were addressed
- Dropped support for GS 2015 TMs
- Ability to Customize the password complexity rules using Trados GroupShare Console
- Added the ability to reset the Dashboard Panels to default
- Updated RabbitMQ, Erlang, and Chef Client to latest versions
- Updated jQuery to the latest version
- Removed WPF Toolkit and SetACL Usage from Trados GroupShare
- If there are unsupported batch tasks when uploading a template or when creating a project, the UI will display the list of tasks that are not supported
- Display a list of Assigned users (not only count) in the Reporting section/Tasks
- Added new languages that are supported with Microsoft Windows Server 2019, addressing the gap of languages available for user-selection in Studio and Trados GroupShare
- Upgraded the MultiTerm (core) components to version 2021 (16.x). This requires the following configuration changes when running the MultiTerm Online web application:
- Change the Tomcat configuration to point to the new MultiTerm16 folder (instead of MultiTerm15) - C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL Server\SDL Multiterm\Multiterm16
- In case of tomcat errors on login, make sure to install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
See https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001239
- Increased OE (Online Editor) hosting page timeout at 3 minutes to support the opening of unusually large files
Resolved issues
- The TM Service experienced in specific cases a crash and subsequent need for restart. This is now addressed
- Organization rename now works without issues even on large installations
- Old project background tasks that are stuck (and keeping Execution Server busy, thus affecting performance) are now marked as failed after a few days
- Fixed “Server Error in '/Reporting' Application Request is not allowed from client address <IP address> client hostname <hostname>” error in specific environments. The workaround mentioned in https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000011262 is no longer needed
- Fixed issues with not being able to select paragraph-based segmentation in Language Processing Rules
- Customization of Segmentation Rules in Language Processing Rules now works on the first try
- Fixed various issues which prevented large files from being opened in Online Editor
- Fixed issue with GS redirecting the user to the Online Editor tab (regardless of the link) in case the last opened tab was the Online Editor
- After attaching a container on the server with a negative UTC time offset, the TMs were not usable and the TM list did not load; this issue is now addressed
- Online Editor now works in Chrome and Edge, regardless of browser's latest version/updates
- The Tasks section from the Reporting area now displays the value of the Is Checked Out column correctly
- On some upgrade scenarios (for example upgrade from GS 2017 CU10), the Verification Service was not started due to some changes in the configuration file. This item is now fixed and Verification should work regardless of the upgrade scenario used
- When having lots of projects and tasks on a server, adding the Reports widgets (Projects, Tasks, TM Leverage) on the Dashboard would not show any data. These widgets are now filtered to show only the information from the last 6 months and data is displayed properly
- The Dashboard chart lines (see Projects Created Per Month or Words Per Month) are now displayed correctly – in previous versions, the lines would mix the months from different years and you would end up with a line starting with Jan 2021 and continuing with Feb and March 2020, instead of a line starting with Feb 2020 and ending with Jan 2021
Known issues
- On the project details page, if the user who created the project was deleted, the user name of the user that created the project is displayed even to users that might not have had permission to see that user name
- In case an AdBlock tool/widget/script is installed on chrome, viewing Logs might not work properly
- Languages supported for project creation but currently not for TMs:
