You attempt to check in, download or open a file from a GroupShare project. You receive following error:

The process cannot access the file [filepath].sdlxliff because it is being used by another process.

where filepath is a file in GroupShare's File Storage folder.

Workaround: Restart GroupShare service

Restarting the GroupShare services releases the file - it may however not (always) write the file.
Therefore following approach is recommended:

1. Reopen GS project to see whether this resolves the issue (see referenced article below)
2. The user that last changed the file makes a backup copy of their local .sdlxliff file (ensure that all translations are in the file)
3. Restart the GroupShare services

Note: If your server is hosted by SDL, contact support:

1. Log in to the SDL Gateway with your SDL Account.
2. Click on the blue Log a Case button.
   Note: For detailed instructions, refer to the video tutorial.

While the underlying root cause is not known and may vary, we have identified that GroupShare is not robust when network issues occur while saving a file in the Editor view.

SDL Development is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.
