Error message 'Too many concurrent users' while trying to check-out/-in document of a Trados GroupShare server-based project

Symptoms/Context
While trying to perform some actions like checking in/out documents of a server-based project in Trados Studio the following error is displaying:
Too many concurrent users
Failed to get project file phases! Maximum number of CALs reached.
Resolution
Check Project Server CALs in use
Login to the Trados GroupShare webUI
Go to System Configuration > Licensing
In the Project Server section, check if all the Project Server CALs are in use.
If all the Project Server CALs are in use the described error message is to be seen. To free up CALs, users are required to ensure that the Trados GroupShare Project is not set as active in Trados Studio.
Note that CALs are used per client application, not per user. So the same person can be logged in with the same Trados GroupShare user in Trados Studio, Chrome, and Firefox and use 3 CALs. Educate the users about this and/or purchase more CALs.
Root Cause
This is most likely seen if the amount of available Project Server CALs limit is reached and further actions cannot be applied to the server-based project.
