How to re-organize a server termbase without stopping it in SDL GroupShare

Symptoms/Context

You want to re-organize a server termbase but the termbase is too big to perform the re-organization in a reasonable time and since the termbase has to be stopped during the process there are a lot of users who wouldn't be able to use it while the reorganization takes place.

Resolution

You can perform a server termbase without actually stopping the termbase by making an import and selecting the option Perform full reorganization after import.

For the import you can select a "dummy" XML file which contains only one "dummy" term such as "test" which you can choose to merge with the existing version of the term by selecting the option to import with the import definition Synchronize on Term.
