As a Language Service Provider, how do I open a WorldServer Package in Trados Studio, translate it and create a correct Return package to be uploaded/imported back to WorldServer? |
The translator receives the files for translation by opening a WorldServer project package with file extension *.WSXZ sent by the project manager or exported/downloaded by the translator directly from WorldServer after clicking on the Export button and selecting the option to export in *.WSXZ Studio format. Follow these steps: 1. If you have exported your WSXZ package using the Export button and you have saved it locally, click Open WorldServer Package on the Projects view in Trados Studio 2021 or 2022. The same applies if you have received the WorldServer WSXZ package from your client or a project manager and you have saved it on your local computer. Alternatively, in WorldServer you can click on the Edit/Translate button in WorldServer and select the option Edit/Translate... in Trados Studio: By following this method, the WSXZ package will be exported in the background and opened automatically in Trados Studio. We do recommend exporting the package manually and saving it to your local computer and keep a copy of the originally exported package. 2- Follow the instructions in the Open WorldServer Package wizard to browse your WSXZ package and open it. 3. Click on Finish once the package has been opened and imported into Trados Studio. The project will be visible in the Projects page. The Project will display as WorldServer Package project in Studio in the Type column. Here an example: 4. Double-click on the project name to open it for translation and open the project's file in the Editor to start performing your translation. Repeat the procedure for all files included in the project. 5. It is recommended to always run the Verify function (F8) in SDL Trados Studio and make sure that all Tags in the target segments are not misplaced or deleted. It is also STRONGLY recommended to always do a File/Save target as.. and create a target file locally in SDL Trados Studio and confirm that no error appears. If an error appear, the same error will appear in Worldserver after upload. Any errors should be fixed in SDL Trados Studio. There should be no error when saving as target before creating a Return package. 6. Once you are ready with your translation, make also sure that you confirm all segments and SAVE your file(s) at the end of your translation. How to create a Return Package in Trados Studio as a local Return package file. 1. In the Projects page, right-click on your WorldServer Project name and select Create WorldServer Return Package. 2. Select or clear the check boxes next to the file names on the Select Files page to include or exclude them from the Return package. Normally, you would include all your final translated or final reviewed files. 3. Click Next to go to the Return Package Options page. 4. You will see 2 options: the option of uploading your Return package via Server directly to WorldServer (that option needs to be enabled in the WorldServer environment you work with, so it might or might not be selectable) and the File option to create a Local WorldServer Return package and import it from the WorldServer User Interface using the Import button. If you want to upload via Server, select the correct URL, click on Authentication, enter your username and password and click Finish. If you want to create a local Return package and upload it to WorldServer through the WorldServer User Interface and through the Project Tasks page, click Browse to open the Save Return Package dialog box. Browse to the location where you want to save the return package, enter a name for the return package in the File name box, and click Save. 5. Click Finish to create the package and finally, click Close. 6. Find your Return Package in the location where you have saved it (see #4) and upload it to WorldServer – or send it to your Project Manager. Note: your WorldServer Studio Return package will automatically have the file extension *.wsxz or *sdlprx.wsxz. If your Return package has the file extension *.sdlrpx only, it means that you have created it out of an Trados Studio project and not of the original WorldServer project. A Return package with extension *.sdlrpx will not be accepted by WorldServer. |
