You create a project, create a project package or run the batch task Populate Project Translation Memories.
This fails with following error:

Unexpected exception when initializing task 'Populate Project Translation Memories': Unable to cast object of type 'Sdl.TranslationStudio.Plugins.AnyTM.CompoundLanguageDirection' to type 'Sdl.LanguagePlatform.TranslationMemoryApi.ITranslationMemoryLanguageDirection'..




 

Workaround: Disable server based AnyTM

While creating a project

1. Start creating the project as usual
2. In step Translation Memory and Automated Translation, untick the Enabled option for any server translation memory that is displayed as AnyTM: [Name]
3. Finish creating the project
4. You may now re-enable the TMs. This will enable the TMs without project translation memory. If you do not wish to update the TM directly, untick the Update option.

While creating a project package or running batch task

1. Go to Home > Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs / [Relevant language Pair] > Translation Memory and Automated Translation
2. Untick the Enabled option for any server translation memory that is displayed as AnyTM: [Name]
3. Create project package or run batch task
4. You may now re-enable the TMs. This will enable the TMs without project translation memory. If you do not wish to update the TM directly, untick the Update option

Note: If required, send a file-based Translation Memory separately and/or the appropriate GroupShare login credentials to connect after the package is opened in Trados Studio.
 

Populating Project translation memories fails with above error message if a GroupShare server translation memory has been added via AnyTM.
The Development team is aware of this problem and is working on a solution. Until a permanent solution is in place, you can apply the workaround available in the Resolution section.
