In Microsoft Windows 8/10 you start Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013/2016 and while loading the SDL MultiTerm toolbar, the following error appears:

The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings.

 

When closing Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013/2016, you receive another error message:

Compile error in hidden module: MTInsertFunctions

There is currently no solution

The MultiTerm Word integration cannot be used and the only thing to avoid at least the message is to remove the *.dotm.

• MultiTerm9.dotm (SDL MultiTerm 2009)
• MultiTerm10.dotm (SDL MultiTerm 2011)
• MultiTerm11.dotm (SDL MultiTerm 2014)
• MultiTerm12.dotm (SDL MultiTerm 2015)
• MultiTerm14.dotm (SDL MultiTerm 2017)

...template to prevent loading it on each startup of Microsoft Word please follow these steps:
 

1. Close Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and all SDL applications.
2. Go to: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
3. Delete the template MultiTerm9.dotm, MultiTerm10.dotm, MultiTerm11.dotm or MultiTerm12.dotm.
4. When restarting Microsoft Word the error will not appear anymore.

 

NOTE: If you not see the path to the Word\STARTUP folder it is an indication that you cannot see hidden files and folders. Please refer to following KB article for enable the view of hidden files and folders:

This happens with Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013/2016 on a Windows 8/10 operating system.

SDL confirms this to be a known issue with the SDL MultiTerm template in Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013/2016 under Windows 8/10. Until a permanent fix is available, unfortunately there is no workaround available other than deleting the SDL MultiTerm template from the Microsoft Word Startup folder.
