Symptoms/Context

Files are not retrieved successfully by Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) connected to SDL TMS or SDL WorldServer.

Resolution
  1. First check if the workflow has a Translated Content Retrieval stage. This is the stage where AEM polls SDL TMS or WorldServer for translated files.
    • If this stage is not there, files will not be retrieved by AEM.
  2. Then check if the workflow has a Rebuild Translation stage in SDL TMS or Save stage in SDL WorldServer.
    • SDL TMS: If this stage is not there, TMS does not rebuild a target file and so the original source file is returned to AEM, leaving all content in its original source language.
    • SDL WorldServer: If the target segments are not populated, the connector returns a target file with empty XML segments, meaning the page in AEM will show blank content.
  3. Does retrieval of translated content take too long? SDL's connector have no polling mechanism. This is controlled solely by AEM itself, either by refresh of the Project UI or by custom-built schedules in AEM.
    • Try refreshing both the Project page UI, and also the file list page UI.
