Error when using GroupShare translation memory: "The translation provider 'TM Name' could not be opened and has been disabled"

Symptoms/Context
When you try to use a GroupShare translation memory, you receive following warning:

The translation provider 'TM Name' could not be opened and has been disabled.

The GroupShare application logs contain the following error:
Sdl.Enterprise2.Platform.Licensing.ConcurrentAccessManager#Too many 'TMServer.CALs' allocated. Maximum is N.
Sdl.Enterprise2.Platform.Client.Licensing.LicenseCountExceededException: Too many 'TMServer.CALs' allocated. Maximum is N.

 
Resolution

Solution: Ensure sufficient number of CALs

If you determine that you need more more CALs, contact your sales representative for an offer.
Root Cause
More users are trying to connect to translation memories than you have TM Server CALs available.
