Symptoms/Context
You are viewing the list of Trados GroupShare 2017 translation memories (e.g. via File > Open > Open Server-based Translation Memory or when adding TMs to a project).
You notice that translation memories that have been linked to your organization do not appear in the list.

Note: For older versions of Trados Studio 2017 SR1 CU8, the list of translation memories may not load at all in this situation: Message "No server selected" in Trados Studio when loading Trados GroupShare 2017 server TM list
Resolution

Workaround A: Grant Guest role in Root organization

This workaround grants the user permissions of the Guest role, including read access to all TMs, termbases and projects on the server.
  1. Log into the Trados GroupShare web interface
  2. Go to Users > Users
  3. Select the affected user and click Edit
  4. Select the Roles tab
  5. In column Organization click Select > Root Organization
  6. In column Roles click Select > Guest
  7. Confirm


Workaround B: Grant minimal role in Root organization

This workaround will grant the user the permission to view all organizations on the server.
  1. Log into the Trados GroupShare web interface
  2. Go to Users > Permissions
  3. Click Edit Roles > Add New
  4. Choose any name
  5. Select the permissions View Organization*
  6. Click Finish
  7. Go to Users > Users
  8. Select the affected user and click Edit
  9. Select the Roles tab
  10. In column Organization click Select > Root Organization
  11. In column Roles click Select and select the role you just created
  12. Confirm
*In step 5, you may want to also (or instead) select View Fields and View Language Resource to enable users of older Studio versions to load the list: Message "No server selected" in Trados Studio when loading Trados GroupShare 2017 server TM list

User of Trados Studio 2017 SR1 CU8 will now be able to to the view the linked TM by performing the following steps in the Open Sever-based Translation Memory window:
  1. Select the Root Organization
  2. Enable option Include subfolders
Root Cause
This is a defect in Trados Studio 2017 SR1 CU8.

RWS Development is aware of the issue and is working on a solution.
