Multiple users of XMetaL and the Tridion Docs Authoring bridge have reported issues when running on Windows 11 24H2.
Some users have it after an upgrade to this Windows 11 24H2 Update. Other users have it when using new hardware where Windows 11 24H2 is installed on.
The most common symptoms are broken functionality and Run-Time Error messages that are shown.

XMetaL released two new MSI installers for version 17 and 18 which will deploy the below registry entry automatically. Customers can choose to roll out a new version of XMetaL or apply the registry key workaround to their current XMetaL version.

Using regedit.exe as Administrator, create and set registry key:
“Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\JScriptReplacement” and set this to 0.
