MultiTrans - Analysis of DOCX file fails with the error "File [filename].docx format is not supported"

Symptoms/Context

When running an Analysis, the message below always appears. Nothing changes after trying several files of different sizes:
Analysis summary of document "[filename].docx"
Document analysis failed with error: File [filename].docx format is not supported.

A word count of 0 words is also reported:

Resolution

1. Copying the DOCX file type configuration file from the following location:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Donnelley\MultiTrans 6.0\shared\XliffConfigFiles\config_docx.xml"

2. Navigate to the following folder:
"C:\ProgramData\Donnelley\XLIFF Editor\config"

Note: if you cannot find the "C:\ProgramData" folder, you must first show hidden folders. See the following article for guidance on how to do this:

3. Delete the existing "config_docx.xml" file from this folder:

4. Paste a copy of the file from step 1 (see above) into this folder:
"C:\ProgramData\Donnelley\XLIFF Editor\config"

5. Restart the MultiTrans Client. You should now be able to analyse DOCX files successfully.

Root Cause

The file "C:\ProgramData\Donnelley\XLIFF Editor\config\config_docx.xml" was somehow corrupted.
