Trados GroupShare: TMService Agent service is stopping right after startup and error in log: One or more errors occurred. (An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.)

Scope/Environment
Symptoms/Context
After the Trados GroupShare installation or upgrade, all GroupShare services are running except the TMService Agent service which is stopped. Trying to start the TMService Agent leads to the service being stopped immediately again.

In the TMServiceAgent.log the following error is recorded:

Resolution
Check with your local IT to ensure the port 5000 is not blocked by any other 3rd party software or tools on the local machine where Trados GroupShare is installed.

Root Cause
The port 5000 is blocked on the local machine where Trados GroupShare is installed.
There can be various reasons i.e. proxy/security software installed which is not configured to allow the port 5000.
