We are seeing some issues with WorldServer Return packages suploaded by translators, the upload appears to work (no errors during import) but the segments still appear untranslated in WorldServer. Example: What could be the cause of the issue? |
WSXZ packages exported from projects using Idiom/Legacy filters have different content than WSXZ packages exported from projects segmented with File Types. The main difference is that the WSXZ package contains an XLF file instead of SDLXLIFF files. This article explains the difference between the 2 types of packages: WorldServer - About the content of WorldServer WSXZ packages exported after segmenting assets using the old Idiom Legacy filters This issue has been identified as a defect present when handling WSXZ packages exported from projects created with Legacy/Idiom filters when using Trados Studio 2022 CU5 (version 17.0.5.14757) and WorldServer component version 17.1.1918. The issue does not happen in previous versions of Trados Studio 2022, for instance, CU 4 or in Trados Studio 2021 or in later versions. Also, this issue does not affect WSXZ packages containing SDLXLIFF files instead of XLF. WSXZ packages containing SDLLIF files are created when the corresponding projects in WorldServer have been segmented using Studio File Types (which we strongly recommend) and not Legacy/Idiom filters. Resolution: Upgrade your Trados Studio to the latest version, for instance, Trados Studio 2022 SR1, always making sure that you also always install the corresponding WorldServer components. They are clearly marked in the RWS Store. Below is the WorldServer component version 17.6.1940 for Studio 2022 SR1: If you are working on Trados Studio 2022 CU5 (version 17.0.5.14757) and - for some reason - you cannot upgrade to SR1 and the correspondent WorldServer component version, follow the steps below: 1- Close Trados Studio 2022 CU5 (version 17.0.5.14757) 2- Go to the RWS App store and download the updated version of the WorldServer Components 17.5.1933 2- A zip file called WorldServerComponents.zip will be downloaded 3- Unzip the zip file and find the installer WorldServerComponents.msi 4- Click on it to run it. The installation will be very fast 5- Go to your Apps and Features and confirm that you have this version installed now 17.5.1933. With this version, the issue will no longer happen. Note: Idiom/Legacy filter should no longer be used to segment files in WorldServer. These filters are deprecated and haven't been developed for over 10 years. When using File Type filters, the issue will not happen. |
