We have created a File Type settings in Trados Studio by going to File > Options > File Types > New... and selecting one of these templates:
Once the File Type is created, we configure it as needed and we then export it to a Studio Settings file (*.sdlftssettings). When importing it into WorldServer 11.7.x, we receive the error: The file provided contains a configuration for a different filter. and the File Type cannot be imported: Note: there is no issue when creating a new File Type based on HTML. The newly created HTML File Type can be imported fine in WorldServer. |
Fixed in WorldServer version 11.8. This is what happens in this version when you import these file-type settings into WorldServer 11.8.x: - The Simple Delimited Text File Type configuration created in Trados Studio will be imported correctly and will display under the Comma Delimited Text (CSV) File Type - The XML2 File Type configuration created in Trados Studio will be imported correctly and will display under the new Custom XML2 File Type. Remember: if your XML 2 File Type configuration contains an enabled embedded content processor, make sure to export the embedded content processor from Studio as well and import it to WorldServer BEFORE you import the XML2 File Type configuration. - The Regular Expression Delimited Text File Type configuration created in Trados Studio will be imported correctly and will display under the Text File Type: WORKAROUND for 11.7.x versions: In earlier 11.7. versions, instead of creating a configuration from scratch using File > Options > File Types > New.... the workaround is to create your File Type configuration by simply modifying the existing and corresponding File Types in Trados Studio and exporting them. The exported configuration files will be imported fine in WorldServer. This workaround works for these two File Types:
However, the workaround above does not work for the XML2: Any XML File Type because - unlike with the Tab Delimited and the Text File Types - Studio does not allow changes in the relevant sections for this File Type, as you can see here with the Parser Rules: Depending on which one you need, open the relevant one in Trados Studio. Then configure it as needed. When ready, export the file type configuration. Finally, import it into your WorldServer. |
The File Type identifiers created by following the method described above result in File Type Identifiers that are not recognized by WorldServer. These are
