This process is the same on Windows or Linux but on Linux, the xyarchive utility expects either xterm or gnome-terminal is installed. If it is not, please see the NOTE below for more information.
Steps to archive an XPP JOB:
Open the XPP XyAdmin (Administrative Tools) window
Click Tools -> Archive/Restore or click the floppy disk icon
In the Archive/Restore window, select the Archive and Jobs radio buttons and click the Show File List box
Click OK
In the ‘Select Job Archive File’ field you can click the icon to the right to browse to a directory and then enter a filename or you can type the full path including a filename in that field.
Click the check boxes for Fonts, Syslib, Dictionaries, Graphics and Masters Only
Next, Select Job, click on the handle and then the CLS, GRP, and JOB to archive. As you click on each item the Job Path field will populate. Then you can either stop there and click OK or select a DIV or DIVs and click OK.
Because you checked the Show File List on the initial Archive/Restore popup, when you click OK you will see the process running in the DOS (terminal window on Linux) window.
Press Return and close the other windows and send the archive to support.
***NOTE: on Linux platform, if either xterm or gnome-terminal is not installed, you must set the XYV_AR_WIN environment variable to some other terminal program that is installed on the system.
