You want to update certain field values in your Translation Memory (TM) when confirming segments, but even though the correct values have been selected under Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update, the TM is not updated as expected (please see examples below). NOTE: Similar issues may occur for any other settings that are present both at the All Language Pairs and the specific language pair level. Please see for example Trados Studio - Project-level Verification settings do not override the settings changed at language pair level. The same resolution path (double-checking the settings at the All Language Pairs and specific language pair level) applies. |
The field values you select under Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update are mirrored on the specific language level (Project Settings > Language Pairs > [ English (United States -> German (Germany) ] > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update in case of the sample project used). In case you accidentally make a change on the specific language level, the field values selected here will be used to update the Translation Memory, and values selected under All Language Pairs will be ignored. This happens even though the TM itself has been added to the All Language Pairs level. To make sure your Translation Memory is updated with the desired field values, make sure the correct values have been selected both under: - Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update AND - Project Settings > Language Pairs > [ specific language pair ] > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update |
This issue was logged for our Development and a fix was implemented in Trados Studio 2024 CU1 (version 18.0.1.2259). |
