After the import of a Return package to WorldServer, the segment status in Browser Workbench displays as Pending Review or Reviewed, but the colour is grey and the segment has not updated the TM. If you place your cursor on the target segment, it displays No translation. The corresponding SDLXLIFF files from the Return package, when opened in SDL Trados Studio, displays no origin: |
Workaround 1: Add a manual change to the affected target segments in Browser Workbench and then click Save. The segments' status will be updated to Pending reveiw or Reviewed, the color will become green (which means that a manual translation has been recognized) and the TM will be updated. This workaround is only feasible if you are working on a few small files with not so many affected segments. Workaround 2: if you work on a project with many files with an high amount of segments, you can work in SDL Trados Studio and apply a different workaround. 1- Firstly, download the Integrated Segment Actions Plug-in from the SDL Language Solutions AppStore and install it for your version of SDL Trados Studio. 2- Export the affected Task from WorldServer to a new WSXZ package and open it in SDL Trados Studio. A WorldServer Studio project will be created. 3- To change the status/origin of multiple segments in one or multiple files in Studio, run the Integrated Segment Actions Plug-in by right clicking on the project's name in Studio and click on Segment Actions. 4- The Segment Actions window will open up. Here you can select the segments that you want to change by right clicking the project name in Studio and select Segment Action 5- Configure the tool to run on the segments in a specific status. For instance if the affected segments are set to Translation Approved, select that same status in the Segments to perform actions on section. Then select Change origin/match to No Match Origin and click on Perform Actions on all files in project, as displayed in this screenshot. The Plug-in will start to run. 6- Once the Plugin has finished to run to and to apply the change, the window will disappear. 7- Reopen one or more of the files that you have changed and observe that the origin has now changed to Interactive. Here is an example of the segment that had no origin previously: Create a new Return package and import it to WorldServer. After the import, check the content of the files in Browser Workbench. You will see that the segments now display correctly and the TM has been updated: |
The affected segment had no origin in SDL Trados Studio. It is unclear how the translators could set the segments to no origin. Normally, all segments have an origin. |
