When you start Trados Studio, you get the information message (the plugin name might be different):

Unsigned SDL Trados Studio Plug-in Found
SDL Trados Studio has detected an unsigned plug-in that wants to load. [plugin name] has been created by a third-party and has not been validated by SDL.
Plug-ins may contain viruses or other harmful code. Do not load this plug-in unless you trust the source of the plug-in.
Do you want to load this plug-in?

Troubleshooting steps:

1. You can choose Yes to load the plugin. No harm will come to the computer or Trados Studio - this is an information message that usually appears after an update to the Trados Studio installation.

2. You can choose No, and the plugin will not be loaded.
You can uninstall this plugin from Trados Studio and download and install its latest version from the AppStore.

3. If you have the latest version of the plugin and do not wish to uninstall/reinstall it from the Appstore - you can also delete the plugin settings (delete its folder) from:

Trados Studio 2024:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\18\Plugins\Unpacked

Trados Studio 2022:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Unpacked

Trados Studio 2021:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked

Trados Studio 2019:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Unpacked

Trados Studio 2017:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\Unpacked

*You can paste these paths directly in Windows File Explorer to reach the folder location.

If you have the latest version of Studio and the latest version of the plugin try the following solution:

1. Uninstall / delete the plugin from the integrated RWS Appstore > Installed plug-ins.



2. Then, in RWS Appstore go to Settings and check the option "Local computers".



3. Re-install the plugin from RWS Appstore > restart Studio and see if the message still appears.
