Trados Studio 2021 - "Error reading JToken from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0." when confirming segments in the Editor view

Symptoms/Context
You confirm segments in the Editor view and you receive the error:
Error reading JToken from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0.
If you check the error details from the error message pop-up, these point to the MT Cloud plugin:
Resolution
1. Remove the SDL Machine Translation Cloud Provider as an MT provider from Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation.
2. Uninstall the plugin from Welcome view > Add-Ins > SDL Appstore > Installed Plugins - select it in the list, and click the bin icon to uninstall it.
3. Use the option SDL Language Cloud in Project Settings, or re-install the MT Cloud plugin from Add-Ins > SDL Appstore
