No, the
Trados GroupShare Online Editor does not have a built-in spell checker as opposed to
Trados Studio desktop software which has both
Hunspell and
MSWord Spell Checker.One can choose to use the Internet browser's spell checker but bear in mind that this can collect data by the provider.
e.g. In the case of
Google Chrome, you can activate this in
Settings > Advanced Settings > Languages > Spell Check > Enhanced Spell check
NOTE! The provider warns you that:
Text you type in the browser is sent to Google.This can be considered by many an issue of secured editing, especially when working on projects with sensitive information. So it is up to each user to decide if an Internet browser spell checker should be used or not.
The option to use spell checker built into browser exists from beginning.
Users can install the plugins to the browser and enable the enhanced spell and grammar checks this way.
Internal implementation of "
fSDL/
RWS" spell checker is
not planned.
