You get the below warning message when clicking on Project Settings in Studio, and when you try to re-enable the server-based TM, the same message pops up again:

The translation provider 'server-based TM name' could not be opened and has been disabled.

 

Workaround 1

Restart Trados Studio.

 

Workaround 2

1. Open Trados Studio and go to File > Setup > Servers.
2. Delete the GroupShare server that hosts the server-based Translation Memory (TM).
3. Close and restart Trados Studio.
4. Reopen Trados Studio and go back to File > Setup > Servers.
5. Re-add the GroupShare server hosting the TM using your GroupShare user credentials.

 

Workaround 3

1. Close Trados Studio
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\Platform\Identity\SDLTradosStudio.exe
3. Rename the SdlIdentityCredentials folder (e.g. OLD_SdlIdentityCredentials)
4. Restart Trados Studio
5. Go to File > Setup > Servers 
6. Re-add the GroupShare server hosting the TM using your GroupShare user credentials.

If Trados Studio remains open but idle (without activity) for an extended period, such as several hours or overnight, it may lose its connection to the server-based settings.
This has been raised as a defect with ID: CRQ-10873.
