You are using Trados GroupShare TMs in your project and are trying to run the batch task Finalize or Update Main Translation Memories. You receive the error: TranslationProviderThrewException

The nature of this issue is intermittent, it does not happen all the time, for all projects or TMs. This issue happens after upgrading to Trados GroupShare 2020.


 

A few approaches can be taken here:

1. Try again to run the batch task.
2. Stop Studio, start it again, try to run the batch task
3. Import the sdlxliff file(s) from the project directly into the TM.
4. When the previous suggestions failed you can try to:

A. Create a new project with the same language pair
B. Create a new file-based TM and add it to this project
C. As source files add all the sdlxliff files from the project or projects that the batch task failed on
D. Run batch task Update Main Translation Memories - making sure you select all the segment statues you want to be in the TM
E. Create a TMX export from this file-based TM and import that TMX into your GroupShare TM.

Alternatively, the Update Main TM function from the Trados GroupShare Web User Interface can be used:
Open the Trados GroupShare Project in the Web User Interface and:
1. Use the Download all files button and select Include TM Update.
2. Or select the Files you want to, and use the Download Selected Files button > Target version for x files > Include TM update.
