Symptoms/Context

You are trying to convert an Excel glossary using MultiTerm Convert software but, when you browse for the Excel file and you select it, you get the following error message:

The conversion option could not be initialised properly.
The file cannot be opened in Microsoft Excel.

Resolution

Solution 1. Try to repair you Microsoft Office or reinstall it.

go to Control Panel > Programs and Features right-click on your Microsoft Office version and select Change > Repair or Uninstall

Solution 2. If you have a 64 bits version of Microsoft Office installation, uninstall it, download and install a 32 bit version one

Root Cause

Possible faulty installation of your Microsoft Office version.
