Error when deleting term in MultiTerm: Beim Löschen des Term-Caches ist ein Fehler aufgetreten ("An error occurred when deleting the term cache")

Symptoms/Context

You attempt to delete a term in a MultiTerm termbase and receive following error:

Beim Löschen des Term-Caches ist ein Fehler aufgetreten.

Approximate English translation of the error: An error occurred when deleting the term cache

Resolution

The only recorded occurrence of the error was resolved by copying the file termbases .sdltb file to to a different drive / different file server.

Root Cause

Unknown. It is however known that the file-based termbase was used from a network drive.
