After an update to performed on your Trados GroupShare 2017 SR1 / 2020 SR1
 instance, you notice one of the below symptoms:

• users are reporting they are unable to access Translation Memories via the Trados Studio either in their project or also for Translation Memory Maintenance
• when you click on Performance Tuning of a Translation Memory under Resources > Translation Memories

Error is seen in various situations:

StorageVersionDataOutdated - The database contains data in an outdated format that cannot be automatically migrated to the current schema.
 

Determine the schema version of your Translation Memory container (Microsoft Server SQL databases used by Trados GroupShare)

1. Open Microsoft SQL Management Studio
2. Open the container database
3. Expand tables of the container database
4. Open the table dbo.parameters
5. Check the number in line 2

translation_memory_id    name    value
NULL    VERSION    8.33

translation_memory_id    name    value
NULL    VERSION    8.14

Upgrade container manually

1. On the Trados GroupShare application server go to C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosGroupShare2017\SQLScripts\SQLServer
2. Find the scripts that are named TMServer-Upgrade-[version]-to-[version] (e.g. TMServer-Upgrade-8.14-to-8.15.mssql.sql)
3. Follow the instructions in this article. It was written for a previous version of Trados GroupShare but the steps are still the same.
4. Apply all scripts from your schema version on up to the final one in the package cache folder.

Note: For the script TMServer-Upgrade-8.14-to-8.15.mssql.sql there is a known issue where a code typo was noticed. Therefore the version from your package cache will most likely fail.
