NOTE: See the Contenta Admin Guide for more detailed information
- Stop Crawler process (Solr process can be left running)
- Copy the delivered sample Collection data folder (<Contenta_Home>\Tools\Solr\server\solr\collectionSDL_Contenta_Sample) to a new name (your collection) NOTE: Only one collection per database is allowed. If there is more than one database, create a collection for each.
- Remove the data folder from the new collection folder. This will be built during the indexing. Open core.properties and key in the collection name you want to index.
- Modify the Crawler registry key DATABASES_TO_INDEX and add the database to be indexed (comma delimited if there is more than one). Also increase the MAX_INDEXER_THREADS and MIN_PORTAL_PROCESSES_PER_POOL values for initial indexing. NOTE: Don't increase it higher than 100, both keys should be the same value. Lower them back to 10 when indexing is done.
- Modify APP_DATA collection information in CE or CW
Where: <Crawler_servername> is the name of the Crawler Server and <collectionname> is the name of the new collection
- GLOBAL/Collections/<Collection_Name>/All_Configs/QUEUED_FOR_INDEXING = false
- GLOBAL/Collections/<Collection_Name>/DEFAULT = true
- Restart the Portal process (optional, restarting it forces the APP_DATA to be read right away, otherwise it will be read over time if you choose not to restart)
- Start Solr process if it’s not running.
- Start Crawler
Monitor the APP_DATA setting GLOBAL/Collections/<Collection_Name>/All_Configs/INDEXING_STATUS key. Once the index is complete the value in this field is updated occasionally during the indexing process and will contain the words "Completed" in it once it's done.
