Failed to create setting page when accessing Options page in SDL Trados Studio; There is an error in XML document (0,0) and Root element is missing

Symptoms/Context
1. Open Trados Studio 2. Click Options from the menu 3. Click Editor 4. Click on Spelling
Following the above steps leads to error message:
There is an error in XML document (0,0) Root element is missing
Resolution
In order to get the issue fixed follow the steps bellow:
For Trados Studio 2017 / 2019 / 2021: 1. Close Trados Studio 2. Go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SpellChecker > Change the folder name SpellChecker toSpellChecker_old 3. Run Trados Studio
For Trados Studio 2022 1. Close Trados Studio 2. Go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\SpellChecker> Change the folder name SpellChecker to SpellChecker_old 3. Run Trados Studio
Root Cause
When updating the Trados Studio software the computer was shut down. The update did not complete correctly and corrupted the HunSpell dictionary.
