Why does SDL Web Content Manager installer fail with error "An Oracle specific prerequisite(s) is missing"?

Scope/Environment

Issue encountered for SDL Web 8.5 installation, but may also be encountered on earlier product versions.

Symptoms/Context

- When running the SDL Web 8.5 Content Manager (CM) installer, installer fails with below error message

- On CM server, two Oracle clients were installed.
- On CM server, Oracle MTS was installed against first client (omtsreco.exe file resides in %ORACLE_CLIENT_1%/bin folder), but %ORACLE_HOME% env var was pointing at the second client.

Resolution

- Note that it is not necessary to install the Oracle MTS service on the database server, only on the CM server.
- Issue resolved after updating %ORACLE_HOME% to point to first client where Oracle MTS was installed.
