After installing a Service Pack or Cumulative Update for SDL Trados Studio 2015, you get the following error message when launching SDL MultiTerm 2015:

Method not found: 'Sdl.MultiTerm.Client.Connectors.ServerPrivilege
Sdl.MultiTerm.Client.Connectors.ServerProxy.LogIn(System.String, System.String, System.String, Boolean, Boolean, Sdl.Enterprise2.Platform.Client.IdentityModel.PersistOption)'.

When you click OK, MultiTerm fails to start and you get the following generic message:

SDL MultiTerm has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…

 

Solution 1: Keep SDL MultiTerm on the latest Service Pack version..

NOTE: This section is for customers installing Service Packs for SDL Trados Studio 2015 and encounter the error described in the Symptoms section...

Download the latest SDL MultiTerm 2015 Service Pack version from the Products & Plans > Downloads section of your "My SDL" Account area and install it. You can log into your account via oos.sdl.com/asp/products/ssl/account.

 

Solution 2: Keep SDL MultiTerm on the latest Cumulative Updates version..

NOTE: This section is for customers installing Cumulative Updates for SDL Trados Studio 2015 and encounter the error described in the Symptoms section...

Download the latest SDL MultiTerm 2015 Cumulative Update from:

• I. Using the AutoUpdate feature 
  
  a. If during the SDL MultiTerm start-up the AutoUpdate feature is not displaying but SDL MultiTerm is opening go to Help > Check for Updates and follow the update process as displayed. 
  b. If SDL MultiTerm is not opening at all, go to C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm12\Updates and double-click MultiTermUpdateClient.exe. Follow the update process as displayed.
   
• II. Download and install Cumulative Update manually. 
  
  The KB article #8125 | Cumulative Updates for SDL MultiTerm 2015 provides instructions and the latest Cumulative Update for download that you can install without the need to use the AutoUpdate feature or if the AutoUpdate feature is not applicable.

This error appears when you install an Cumulative Update or Service Pack of SDL Trados Studio 2015 but still have SDL MultiTerm 2015 installed that is not equally updated. SDL MultiTerm cannot use the necessary application programming interface to establish a proper connection to MultiTerm. This happens because SDL Trados Studio Service Packs or Cumulative Updates include possible updates to the core components during the installation, which cannot be used by the corresponding SDL MultiTerm version.
