Your options for continuous, uninterrupted processing of INX content are:
-
Switch to using the SDLXLIFF-based INX filter with the Adobe InDesign CS2-CS4 (Studio) Content Type, which will still be supported post TMS 2011 SP6 release.
-
Switch to processing the more recent IDML export format using the Adobe InDesign CS4-CC (Studio) Content Type which generates SDLXLIFF as well.
One significant implication of this change is that you must use SDL Trados Studio to translate SDLXLIFF tasks - the SDLX application cannot handle these files. If you are currently translating INX using the Legacy ITD-based filter and you are working in SDLX, you will need to communicate the required switch-over to your localization supply chain.
With the release of SDL TMS 2011 SP6, existing Content Types using the legacy INX filter will not be altered or removed, and existing tasks will be able to complete their workflow. Also, new jobs based on this format can still be created. However, you will no longer be able to create a new legacy INX based Content Type.
In a future release, we will remove this Content Type and the Pre-processing Tool altogether.
