Symptoms/Context
You have successfully installed SDL Trados Studio, but you cannot open it. However, there is no error message.
Resolution

Exclude the following executable files from scanning:

  • 32-bit Operating Systems:
    • C:\Windows\System32\nalserv.exe
    • C:\Windows\System32\nlsserv32.exe
    • For SDL Trados Studio 2011:C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio2\SDLTradosStudio.exe
    • For SDL Trados Studio 2014:C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio3\SDLTradosStudio.exe
  • 64-bit Operating Systems:
    • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nalserv.exe
    • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nlsserv32.exe
    • For SDL Trados Studio 2011:C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio2\SDLTradosStudio.exe
    • For SDL Trados Studio 2014:C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio3\SDLTradosStudio.exe

Root Cause
The F-Secure Antivirus software blocks Studio's executable files (*.exe) from launching correctly. Therefore you need to add these *.exe files to your antivirus exclusion list.
