Resolution
Defect CRQ-4539 is fixed in WorldServer version 11.6. Moreover, a Hotfix has been delivered for version 11.4.2.

If you encounter an error Expression type int is invalid for COLLATE clause during the search, please refer to this article:

WorldServer - after installing Hotfix CRQ-4539, searching for dupliactes with recommended parameters leads to internal error "Expression type int is invalid for COLLATE clause."

Root Cause
Note: WorldServer does not support case-sensitive SQL Server. To use WorldServer with SQL Server, you must configure SQL Server to be case-insensitive.
The same case-sensitivity restriction applies to Enterprise and Standard Editions, and to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the SQL Server RDBMS.

See also this section of the RWS Documentation.

However, we have identified this behavior as defect. This is related to defect CRQ-4539.
