You notice that you do not receive any or only very few context matches. Instead, you receive 100% matches.
Resolution

Workaround: Apply repair tool

To regain context matches, apply following steps to your translation memory:
  1. Download and unzip attached JACMTool
  2. Copy the .exe file to the SDL Trados Studio 2017 installation folder (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5)
  3. Create a backup copy of the translation memory
  4. Open a command prompt (cmd.exe)
  5. Change directory to the Studio 2017 installation folder
    cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5"

  6. Run following command (where "<TmFileLocation>" is the full path to the TM to be repaired):
    JACMTool.exe "<TmFileLocation>"
  7. Confirm by pressing space
  8. Wait until the tool finishes running

You should now receive context matches from this translation memory again.

Note: The tool can only correct context information if the translation unit that constitutes the context is (still) in the translation memory. This should be the case for most translation units.
Root Cause
SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 enables upLIFT for Japanese and Chinese translation memories. To enable this, changes in how Studio handles Japanese and Chinese have been implemented. One consequence is the loss of context matches for existing translation units.
SDL Development is working on a solution integrated in SDL Trados Studio. In the meantime, refer to below workaround.
