Error when opening Trados Studio packages: "Access to the path 'C:\...\AppData\Local\Application Data' is denied"

When you open any SDL Trados Studio package, you receive following error:

Access to the path ' C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Application Data' is denied
 
 

Workaround: Reset Studio to default settings

Trados Studio 2021
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder Studio16 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio
Trados Studio 2019 
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 15.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2017
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 14.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2015
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 12.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio
