Symptoms/Context
When you open any Trados Studio package, you receive following error:

Access to the path ' C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Application Data' is denied
 
 
Resolution

Workaround: Reset Studio to default settings

Trados Studio 2024
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder Studio18 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2022
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder Studio17 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2021
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder Studio16 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2019 
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 15.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2017
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 14.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio

Trados Studio 2015
  1. Close Studio
  2. Rename folder 12.0.0.0 in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio


Note: If you can't find the path above open Windows File Explorer, click on View and check Hidden Items checkbox.
