TitleTrados Studio 2024 - error when importing XML 1.2.0.0 and XML 1.3.0.0 File Type configurations exported from WorldServer
URL Name000022434
SummaryI have exported a Custom XML (Legacy Embedded Content) - corresponding to XML 1.2.0.0 - and a Custom XML (Embedded Content Processor) File Type configuration - corresponding to XML 1.3.0.0 - from WorldServer as *.sdlftssettings files. When trying to import them into Trados Studio 2024, I receive errors like "Cannot import settings..." or "This file type is not supported".

The support for XML 1.x File Types has been removed completely from Trados Studio 2024. These File Types are no longer present in Trados Studio 2022 either, but Trados Studio 2022 still allows to import of File Type configurations related to these File Types. This feature has been completely removed from Trados Studio 2024.

Solution: migrate all your XML 1.2 or XML 1.2 File Type configurations to XML 2 File Types, displaying as Custom XML 2 in WordlServer.
Workaround: use Trados Studio 2022 to modify your XML 1.x configurations in Trados Studio.

When I try to import the XML 1.3.0.0 configuration (*.sdlftssettings file) in Trados Studio 2024, I receive this generic error:

This file type is not supported

I can import these file type configurations in Trados Studio 2022, but not in Trados Studio 2024.
