Answer | - Under Archive Settings, the path to the folder where archive data is stored is displayed and a link to the archive folder is provided. Click on this link to open the archive folder.
- Under Setting Values, you can specify how frequently you want archiving to take place and when you want data to become eligible to be archived.
- Under Archive Frequency, specify how frequently you want archiving to take place. The options are Hourly, Daily or Weekly. If you select Daily, enter the time at which you want archiving to occur each day. If you select Weekly, enter the time and day of the week on which you want archiving to occur. Before choosing a frequency, consider the Maximum number of tasks to be archived per session setting. We recommend that you set an hourly frequency with a limit of 1,000 tasks.
- Next to Default Archive data retention period, enter the period of time that you want data that is eligible to be archived, to remain on the SDL TMS server before it actually is archived. For example, if you set this to 7 days, then any data that becomes eligible to be archived, cannot be archived until 7 days have passed. When the retention period has passed, the data will be archived during the next scheduled run of the Archiver service. We recommend that you do not set this value higher than 31 days.
- Next to Log data retention period, enter the period of time for which log files will be kept in the log folder before they are archived. A file is considered to be a log file if it has an extension of .log or _log.xml. Text files in the same folder will be deleted at the end of the retention period. Archived log files are added to a ZIP archive which, by default, is deleted after 30 days. You can change the 30 day setting if you want (see the release notes for TMS Service Pack 3 Patch 3). The Log data retention period also controls when the following files are deleted from TMS: CTA logs (in the \Application\Download\ folder), uploaded ITD files (in the \Application\ITDUpload\folder) and new jobs (\Application\NewJobs\ folder).
- Next to Archived logs retention period enter the period of time for which the archived logs are kept before being deleted from the server.
- Next to Archived jobs retention period enter the amount of time for which the archived jobs are kept before being deleted from the server.
- Under Maximum number of tasks to be archived per session, enter the maximum number of tasks to be archived in a single archiving session. We recommend that you set an hourly archiving frequency with a limit of 1,000 tasks. If a single job contains more tasks than the specified limit, the limit will be ignored and the job will be archived in its entirety.
