Sometimes the FTS user does not have sufficient privileges to modify or clean up certain folders. This is particularly relevant if you would like to apply the steps described in this
article and automatically clean up files and folders outside of the directory defined in
FileTypeSupportServerShared. Follow these steps to check for possible permission issues and correct them:
- Check the Windows user used to run the FTS service by logging on to the application server
- Open Services and right-click on SDL File Type Support Server (the name could also be WorldServer FTS Service)-> Properties
- Click on the Log On tab and check if the Local System Account is running the service, or if you have a defined User instead
- Repeat the above steps for the WorldServer service (Idiom) -> note if they are configured the same
- Go to the folder that should be cleaned up or changed and right-click on it -> Properties
- Go to the Security tab and click on Advanced
- Check the folder owner and adapt the permission to include the FTS user
