SDL Passolo 2016 CU12 (Build 408, Published on 14 March 2018)
Cumulative Update 12 (Build 408) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- For legal reasons, the msgfmt.exe utility and the iconv.dll file, used for PO file validation, are no longer distributed with the Passolo 2016 installer. This means that, if you need to validate PO files, you'll need to download and install the msgfmt utility separately and specify its path. Also, download iconv.dll and place it in the same folder as the msgfmt utility.
- Passolo 2018 licenses can now be used to activate Passolo 2016 to allow a smooth migration to the most recent Passolo version.
- The category field is now exposed for the Microsoft Translation Hub (CRQ-6895).
- Added the Write CR+LF instead of just LF within RC Data content checkbox in the Delphi parser options. When checked, CRLF will be used instead of LF, after updating the source and target string lists. Translatable strings might be affected by toggling this and there can be a warning about changed strings for translatable strings containing LF (CRQ-8711).
- Fixed pre-translation crashing with the Passolo Unicode has stopped responding error when using a large glossary (CRQ-8414).
- Fixed displaying the Delphi ERROR - Scan error in custom resource when generating the target file error when generating target files for certain DLLs (CRQ-8688; CRQ-8470).
- Fixed displaying the Scan error in custom resource error when generating string list with Delphi parser. (CRQ-8022).
- Fixed displaying the Number of parameters specified does not match the expected number error when using Automation (CRQ-8412).

- Added compatibility with Trados Studio 2017 SR1 and Trados Studio 2015 SR3.
- Multiple instances of Passolo can now work without crashing in a Build service environment.
- Fixed throwing of the Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp\PASSOLO\tmpdownl.dat error when trying to run several instances of Passolo in a Build service environment.

- In the COM object model, the Delete and UnDelete methods were added to the PslTransList object.
- Fixed the Passolo Unicode has stopped working error during Write update process.
- Fixed issue where a string from a resource was written in the target file of another resource for certain files.
- Fixed issue with resources from DLL files being extracted twice and with different names for certain files.
- Fixed issue with SetTargetPathRule macro not updating the file paths.

SDL Passolo 2016 CU9 (Build 373, Published on 19 April 2017)
Cumulative Update 9 (Build 373) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- Fixed issue with exposing vendor's and translator's contact information when exporting and synchronizing bundles in Passolo Collaboration Edition.
- Passolo SDK: you can now keep the resource editor open when the filter is changed.
- Fixed crash that occurred for a specific addin when clicking the translation list.
- Fixed fuzzy match list not being sorted by the match rate value.
- Dialogs were being pushed to the left of the screen when the Windows taskbar is position to the left. This is now fixed.
- Localized and fixed display issues for the Force Edit dialog buttons.
- Fixed issue with .NET parser not extracting translatable data in some situations.
Because of changes made to FTP synchronization and export, we recommend that you update your entire supply chain to Passolo CU9. Exchanging bundles between pre-CU9 and CU9 versions of Passolo might lead to issues with synchronization, connections settings and user sharing.
Previously created bundles need to be recreated with Passolo CU9.
SDL Passolo 2016 CU8 (Build 357, Published on 23 March 2017)
Cumulative Update 8 (Build 357) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- The translation edit box and other editing areas, which are based on RichEdit technology, have been updated to the latest version of RichEdit, and a number of issues reported by customers over the years have been addressed in this process, among them the following:
- Fixed issue with cursor jumping to punctuation marks instead of going word by word when using word-level navigation buttons (CTRL+Left/Right) and the Show Whitespace option is selected.
- Passolo can now identify tags as word boundaries, meaning that using word-level navigation buttons (CTRL+Left/Right) will also cause the cursor to stop at the beginning of a tag.
- Passolo used to replace the degree character ° with whitespace in the target files. This is now fixed.
- Text containing inline tags was not copied correctly in the Translation Window when using the CTRL+V key combination. This is now fixed.
- With Show Whitespace characters selected, the Passolo Polar Spell Checker used to flag Tab characters as spell check errors. This is now fixed.
- With Show Whitespace characters selected, copying a string from Passolo would also copy the dot character. Copying a string from Passolo now replaces the dot character with whitespace.
- The new YAML parser is now out of beta stage.
- The SDL Knowledge Base button from the Help tab was replaced with a button that points to the SDL Customer Gateway, the new location for Passolo-related knowledge base articles.
- Added a new button on the Help tab that points to the new idea community page for Passolo.
- In Passolo Collaboration Edition there was an issue that caused overwriting of FTP connection settings if these were added to a bundle after export and the original bundle creator would synchronize the export. This issue was fixed and subsequent FTP settings that are imported in a bundle are now preserved.
- Passolo now supports the IPv6 protocol when using FTP in the Collaboration Edition.
- Passolo now displays progress messages when (batch-)updating a Trados Studio translation memory.
- Fixed issue with BAML files not being parsed when certain elements were present.
- When a term had matches in multiple termbases that were set up in Passolo, only the match from the first termbase in the list was displayed. Terms from all termbases are now found.
- Fixed receiving an error when trying to pre-translate a file using Google Translate v2 as a provider for Fuzzy Matching.
- Android parser:
- Fixed displaying and processing of real carriage returns in Passolo.
- Fixed displaying and processing of entries containing escaped newlines \n and un-escaped newlines (CR+LF).
- Some language-specific characters (e.g. from the Serbian language) were not displayed correctly in the Passolo macros when filling in text.

- Introduced support for the new Microsoft Azure-based machine translation provider.

SDL Passolo 2016 CU6 (Build 332, Published on 14 February 2017)

- Introduced the possibility to delete multiple glossaries at the same time.
- Passolo is now compatible with server-based terminology (MultiTerm Server) as part of Trados GroupShare 2017. Compatibility with server-based translation memories is planned for the the near-term future.

SDL Passolo 2016 CU5 (Build 309, Published on 29 November 2016)
Cumulative Update 5 (Build 309) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- Passolo 2016 is now compatible with SDL Trados Studio 2017 and SDL MultiTerm 2017 when working with file-based resources. Server-based resources managed via SDL Trados GroupShare 2017 will be supported shortly after the GroupShare 2017 release.
- Added the ability to set encoding for HTML files in the Advanced section of the HTML Parser window.
- Fixed an issue with parser comments overwriting project manager comments.
- Fixed issue with Passolo incorrectly detecting the resource type when processing plain XAML files. These are not handled at the moment, but the BAML resources are now extracted.
- Fixed issue that occured when parsing a DLL file and certain properties extracted by Passolo do not have a parent control leading to the Error parsing file. Enable diagnostic report for more details error.
- Fixed Unhandled Exception in Add-in error when checking translations for BAML resources.
- Fixed losing FTP settings during the Synchronization process under certain circumstances.
- Fixed issue with Passolo wrongly inserting translations from a Trados Studio translation memory where placeable tokens, such as numbers, were not auto-substituted in the same way as when using Studio. Now Passolo applies the same logic as Studio in segments with numbers and other non-translatable tokens.
- Fixed Unhandled Exception in Add-in error when updating the source list for a certain DLL files with HTML content.
- Passolo doesn’t properly save the changes made in the FTP e-mail templates.
- Fixed issue with extra space at the end of the server name preventing the storing of the translation in the TM. The server name is now trimmed, so unnecessary white space is removed from the end and beginning of it. The server needs to be edited and saved for the fix to take effect if the server name was added with a space before.
- Improved behavior for exporting a split source bundle using FTP. Selecting the split option disables the possibility to add source files to the export list. If source files were added, these are removed and a warning message is displayed.
- Fixed the The add-in "Borland Delphi/C++ Builder" is not loaded error when opening files in Delphi projects created with a previous or later version of the Delphi add-in with a different add-in name.
SDL Passolo 2016 CU4 (Build 286, Published on 11 October 2016)
Cumulative Update 4 (Build 286) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- Added a new parser for YAML file types. The YAML format stores data as a map of keys and values associated to those keys. Passolo can extract the values in a YAML file for translation. The YAML parser is currently in beta stage and will receive further optimization based on user feedback.
- For the Android parser:
- Fixed issues in handling APK files.
- Fixed handling of unescaped apostrophes inside quoted strings.
- Improved error handling for the APK signing tool, apktool.jar.
- Fixed parser not generating target files for Unicode escaped characters mixed with line breaks.
- Introduced more robust handling of files with CDATA sections
- Fixed several Export/FTP issues to make Collaboration Edition workflows more robust:
- Fixed adding more then the desired files to a bundle when synchronizing exports to an FTP server.

- Fixed an installation problem in the Passolo installer that caused FTP connections to fail when installing Passolo in a clean environment.

- For the .NET parser:
- Fixed an issue in the Microsoft .NET parser that could cause the loss of translated strings when updating the string list.
- The handling around the Incomplete Autoscale warning has been improved. Now it is possible to edit dialog boxes even when the Incomplete AutoScale warning occurs. Changes made in this way are saved and also put in the generated target files.
- Manifest files are no longer incorrectly included in satellite assemblies, which was causing issues with ClickToRun installers.
- Fixed an issue with Passolo crashing when updating the string list for specific Delphi files.
- Fixed bookmark ribbon buttons not being available in certain cases.
- Fixed errors when configuring SDL Language Cloud to work with all language pairs enabled.
- Fixed a problem where the maximum string length was not displayed under certain circumstances.

SDL Passolo 2016 CU3 (Build 264, Published on 4 August 2016)
Cumulative Update 3 (Build 264) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- For the Android parser:
- Enhanced handling of escape characters, such as the apostrophe or the backslash.
- Enhanced the handling of CDATA sections.
- Fixed a problem where SDL Passolo removed strings that contained two attributes when generating the target file.
- Fixed an issue in Collaboration Edition such that Passolo no longer overwrites the second FTP connections when using multiple connections in a project. This was causing synchronisation issues.
- Fixed an issue where, under certain circumstances, the SDL Passolo bundle export could take a lot of time compared to Passolo 2015.

- The command-line interface has been enhanced as follows:
- The command line option */openproject* can now load projects from a */script* file with a blank in the path.
- If multiple project should be processed in a */script*, Passolo so far did not offer to close projects in */script* files. This could result into memory issues. A new command line parameter */closeproject* has been introduced to handle this condition more robustly.
- Inline patterns can now be handled in a more user-friendly way as follows:
- Similar to the XML or text file parser, a new default patterns category is now available in the Inline Patterns tree view to make it easier to get started with inline patterns.
- This new settings category is taking its content from a file called InlinePatterns.dat that is now shipped and installed with Passolo. This file contains useful sample patterns.
- Patterns in the default category are shipped as deactivated by default and cannot be edited. This is by design.
- Users can activate the pattern when they need them. Also, they can move/copy them to the custom section or into a project, where they can be rename or otherwise modified.
SDL Passolo 2016 CU2 (Build 251, Published on 8 June 2016)

SDL Passolo 2016 CU1 (Build 244, Published on 12 May 2016)
Cumulative Update 1 (Build 244) contains all previous enhancements and hotfixes as well as the following new ones:
- Passolo now supports the latest SDL Trados Studio/MultiTerm 2015 SR2 releases. The add-ins are now loaded correctly without the user having to configure the installation paths manually.
- Fixed incorrect character handling in the JSON parser for apostrophe ( ' ) and slash ( / ) characters that occur in string IDs.
- Fixed a crash in Passolo when trying to update a TM with debug logging active.
- Fixed an issue where satellite assemblies were not parsed correctly and target versions of these DLLs could not be successfully created.

- Zero Width Space - visualised by the character "◊" - can be inserted using [Ctrl+Alt+Space]

- Added a new batch mode command for generating reports.
- The

command creates timestamped folders containing corresponding reports inside the Reports subfolder of the project directory. - Using the command with a parameter (

AutoUpdate is turned on by default, so you will automatically be notified of the update as soon as it is available. Follow the instructions on screen to download and apply the update.
NOTE: Applying the update may take some time, as the SDL Passolo installation is analyzed before the update to ensure the patch can be installed successfully. As a rule of thumb, applying the patch will take roughly the same time as installing the application.
