000018847 |5/27/2022 10:17 PM
Scope/Environment
SDL MultiTrans TMS
Symptoms/Context
After exporting the Excel target document, the translation on a visible spreadsheet is missing because the spreadsheet contains referenced cells with formulas
User-added image

Resolution
1- Open the Target document in Excel
2- Highlight the cell that is not translating and Check the Formula bar
In our example it was  =Sheet1!A1. This typically means that the cell is referencing another cell in another sheet.

3- We need to refresh the formulas on the referenced cells

How to refresh formulas that are referencing text from another spreadsheet

There are also several keyboard shortcuts to improve your efficiency when refreshing your calculations.
•    F2 – select any cell then press F2 key and hit enter to refresh formulas.
•    F9 – recalculates all sheets in workbooks
•    SHIFT+F9 – recalculates all formulas in the active sheet
•    CTRL+ALT+F9 – force calculate open worksheets in all open workbooks including cells that have not been changed
•    CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F9 – recalculates all sheets in all open workbooks

Assuming that the original cell is translated, the referenced cell should be translated now

Root Cause
The referenced cells calculation and formulas are not automatically refreshed
