Trados Live Team / Language Cloud
When working on a document from a Cloud project in Trados Studio, this prompt appears:
The local version of file XYZ available in Trados Studio conflicts with the version stored in the cloud. Do you want to overwrite the local version with the latest version available in your account (Last modified on: XYZ)?
This happens even if the file was not touched in Online Editor in Trados Live / Language Cloud. If the user clicks Yes, an older version of the file from the Cloud will be downloaded, overwrite the Trados local version and all translations done in Trados in that session will be lost from the sdlxliff file/project. However, they will still be present in the Translation Memory if one was used.
Please note that the translations exist in the Translation Memory, so they can be retrieved from there. Alternatively, one can work in Online Editor in Trados Live / Language Cloud exclusively until the issue is resolved.
Workaround for using Trados Studio: Before starting to work on the file in the Editor view, click the Save button. If you get the message from the screenshot above, remove the project from the Projects view in Studio - right-click the project and select remove from List, and add it back using the Refresh button.
This is a know defect in Trados Live / Language Cloud that was introduced recently, around August 29th, 2021. Development is currently working on addressing it.
