To avoid issue, raise the TmsPollingInterval value. This is essentially a tuning exercise; a higher value will make the occurrence less likely but means longer intervals between the job statuses being retrieved from TMS.
Note that the offending job should to be resubmitted.
After making the configuration change to the TmsPollingIntervalue, restart the Tridion Translation Manager service.
