Function keys/XPP hotkeys are not working as they should. F9, F10, F11, etc. keys do nothing.
This problem can be caused by a collision of function keys used by two or more products running on the same system. SnagIt is one program that uses SHIFT+F10 for one of its functions. If the program is running at the same time XPP is running, there may be a collision that would cause the sequence not to work with XPP.
In order to resolve the problem, either close the other application while XPP is running or configure the other application so it uses some other function key or hotkey for its shortcut so it will not interfere with XPP. For example, rather than the other application using Shift +F10, it could be changed to use CTRL + Shift + F10.
Another reason Function keys such as F10, F9, F11 may not work would be that the keyboard function keys are dual purpose, for example, F10 and SHIFT+F10 may flip between Print Screen and a hotkey function. If the default is the Print Screen function position rather than the hotkey function, use Fn+SHIFT+F10 to get tag brackets in XPP, for example.
Users could unlock the function on the keyboard by clicking Fn+Esc. Using a keyboard without dual function Function keys is another option.
A program other than XPP using the same hotkey/function key, Shift + F10 and running simultaneously with XPP. OR Keyboard toggle has Function keys locked to the function rather than the F1-F12 functions.
