You have installed Trados Studio and/or MultiTerm without any issues. However, when opening the application or when trying to open a file or a project, one of the following error messages occurs (the list is not exhaustive):

Update Microsoft WindowsCheck for any pending updates for your Microsoft Windows operating system and make sure they are installed. Studio 2019 / 2021 and MultiTerm 2019 / 2021 Service Releases can be updated via the AutoUpdate feature of the respective applications via
Help > Actions > Check for Updates All other earlier versions versions Service Releases must be downloaded and installed manually from the Download section of your MyRWS Account (https://oos.sdl.com/)

This may happen if some of the user settings files for Trados Studio or for MultiTerm are damaged or are not correctly copied into the relevant folders. This may also happen if there are Microsoft Windows updates pending - the installation for Trados Studio or MultiTerm is not correctly done because the operating system is not up to date. Another reason for such errors is, if either only Studio or MultiTerm have been updated to the same Service Release (SR).For instance only Studio 2019 has been updated to SR1 but not MultiTerm 2019. |
